*LOGIC'S GRAND ADVENTURES(Daily Life Of A Feline) By C.A. Shelton
*As I made my way down to the grocery store on that one spring evening, Logic insisted that we were to stop by grandma's house to visit first. His tone of purring and certain feline chattering made it be known to me that it would be so. Grandma always made sure Logic would have the best when we arrived and that is why he looked forward to visit.
*Logic loves to travel and when we would make plans for our destinations, he would be the first to make it known on the map where to go. The time he and I endured the park, with his savvy harness and leash, ready to encounter trees, scratch them, play in the dirt, or watch the birds and squirrels afar off. In his feline mind, we should go after them. The both of us. However, I let him know that he could accomplish that rather than I because he's more natural animal than me. He looks up at me with curious eyes of wonder looking toward those nature species and just one take, he was free to roam but not too far. I let him know they travel either upwards more upon that tree or fly higher than his curiosity can at times. The sunshine gleaming on his gloss like black fur that day made him feel much more grander than at home. It should of course. Times out in nature bring out the best in our animal companions.
*The time well spent in the mountain trips are always his favourite. Never does he forget memories such as these. If it's not having his senses tested near streams of water, it is his time feeling his paws upon the grass or times when a storm might approach, the winds having their way in simple gusts, or the way certain nature like noises makes his ears more alert. His intuition, like his mother's, enhances better in nature. The time when we both had to stop before approaching the first sign of traffic, no matter where we would be. Noticing other drivers would make him wonder why they even had a license. He literally would point out which ones would be overbearing, on their cell phones too much, or families that would rather be going home than enjoy a trip away together. Not to mention his curiosity with the lights turning different colors. We go on green Logic, then stop on red. No blue, purple, or orange. Yellow means we have to slow down. Then I tell him, "These colors are just a simulation. They do not really matter. What matters is we are together and we are having adventures."
*The time when he has to go to the vet. Never does he enjoy these times because well they are not home and grand adventures. His look of disgust is already there. Knowing that he is about to be handled by another human being is beneath him. Only Mommy can do that or whom others he can be comfortable with. Once the vet visit is over, he wants to go home. He is silently upset with the world, hides under the covers, and sulks for awhile until the next grand adventure. The time when we arrive home after a day of spending time with my friends and their animal companions. Like his mother, begins to relax and do his own thing. Use the litter box, drink, eat, and it is feline nap time. That grand adventure was exhausting yet worth the company.
*The time when the seasons change and in the colder months, our grand adventures are limited to that extent. Logic makes sure to let it be known that when the seasons do change, that make it known that we have it planned to never give up on those times together and to always consider planning in advance of those adventures. The time when Logic is at home and we simply enjoy the quiet or working around the house. His moments of napping, using the litter boxes, eating, drinking, playing with toys, his moments of energy highs, and simply spending time in my lap when it suits him is by far a homely grand adventure. The time when we have real family gatherings and Logic enjoys grandma's company better than anyone else's. He makes sure to make his way to her when we arrive at her house. He only tolerates and makes chattering with the others a rather proper tone than what he really would rather chat to them about. Grandma is the best and that is all that matters.
*The grandest of adventures to Logic is knowing that as long as he and I are together and whatever considers our way of traveling, we are inseparable and there is more and far better yet to come to our adventures along our journey.
*A SOLDIER'S MEMOIR-(As An Honor Of My Mother's Fulfilled Legacy) By C.A. Shelton
*Main Characters: Hazel Ann Spencer and Ebedore William Portman
*It was late September in the afternoon of the year nineteen sixty-nine, when the air as we know it changing into its natural form of the season and where the trees and all the leaves blooming, blossoming into their vibrant, lush colors to emphasis the turning of times. Hazel made her way to the dinner table contemplating on the night before her courting with Ebedore. Her parents were smiling and looking at one another. Well sweetheart, "How was your day?" Hazel gave her father a glance knowing what he was implying. Well it was of value and my classmates were assigned different projects in our history class. Mine was with Ebedore and we are writing an essay on the Holocaust. Her mother continued the conversation, "Well how was your first date with him and do you both plan on spending more time together now since pairing up on this writing project?" Hazel replied, "Yes of course. And is it alright if he considers our home for the next couple weekends for our history project?" They both agreed on the endeavor and Hazel continued with the fact that the date was wonderful.
*Her father ended dinner with explaining that his military service honorary speech was going to be next week and the family needed to prepare for the predicament and Hazel and her siblings were to decide on what to wear for the occasion. He emphasized that it will be in the afternoon on a Friday. Hazel's mother continued that the girls have to decide on matching or close to the colors of the presentation and the boys are to consider the same. After dinner and cleaning the kitchen and assisting with putting away the dishes, Hazel went to her room to finish her homework while her siblings were either crowding the restroom to get ready for bed or trying to pester her. She eventually had to shut her door because of the madness. Thoughts of her parents conversation, Ebedore, and what to write on the history essay flooded her mind. One task at a time she thought. Her mother eventually made her way to Hazel's room and knocked on the door. "Hazel, it's your mother. Can I come in please?" Hazel replied, "Yes you may." "Well have you considered a dress style you desire, and what color?" And I think your father might approve of Ebedore. He does seem quite the gentleman for his age. Hazel replied, "I was thinking long sleeve, lace cover up around the collarbone with room from the waist down and the colors are turquoise blue and olive green. And she continued, well hopefully he possibly can be invited to the service speech next week?" Her mother was soft spoken like her and stated that the dress situation was good and she will converse with her father about the invitation. Her mother still wanted to know more about Ebedore. Hazel knew why she was stalling in her room longer than expected. "Well mother dear, I think it is time for me to finish the rest of my homework before bed and Papa is waiting downstairs for you I'm sure of it. I will see you in the morning for breakfast and please do not forget to discuss with Papa about inviting Ebedore. Thank you." Her mother kissed her goodnight, smiling, and reminded Hazel not to forget her bedtime prayers.
*Morning came and gone and Ebedore walked Hazel to school. On their way there, Ebedore explained to Hazel some good news and bad news. He stated, "Well do you want to know the good news first or the bad news?" Hazel was already gripping at her books. She stated, "Well the bad news please I guess." Ebedore continued, "Well the bad news is my family and I are moving once my senior year is over and I still want to keep in touch with you. And maybe we will definitely be a complete pair by then. The good news is I have decided with much thought to join the military and you are the first to know. And who knows, you might be able to move with me if everything falls into place by the end of our school year." Hazel glanced at him with a stare of the unknown and also of complete respect. She sensed he was nervous to explain the conversation. So to ease his mind, she simple stated that was absolutely worth considering and she will definitely discuss matters with her parents next week about what was discussed. He might be a gentleman as Papa predicted she thought as they approached the school building.
*Another day went by and Hazel contemplated on everything that was discussed with her parents, Ebedore, and the essay was heavy on her mind once again. Maybe a conversation with Papa might be the best before the event with Ebedore in the same room as they. So later on that day, she noticed Ebedore kept staring at her in a way that he wanted to converse with her about something other than just simply out of adoration. So after class, they met up at the school library. Ebedore hugged her and was happy they were alone. I have something to tell you. Before he began his conversation, she stated she needed to tell him something as well. Ebedore stated, "Will you be my lady?" And with much response, she said yes. And Hazel asked him, "Well Papa has a honorary speech next week and our family has invited you. And we all have to dress accordingly with the same colors as the event. Will you accompany us?" And with much response, Ebedore agreed.
*The next week arrived for the event and Hazel was nervous and yet prepared for it. Her dress and Ebedore's suit was ravishing. Her siblings were much smiling at the both of them and of course her parents were proud to call Ebedore part of the family now. With much togetherness, both families(Ebedore's family was invited at last minute) prepared for a lasting portrait that would change their lives forever. They both got close for the portrait. He was way much taller in stature than her. Her small frame though completed his in the most astonishing way. His brown sandy blonde hair and blue eyes captivated his suit as well as Hazel's dress matched her stature and hazel eyes. Her eye color changes on the occasion. Her sandy light blonde hair was as if the dress complimented her in a way as the sun gleaming itself through a numerous branches from a tree. Ebedore made it quite evident that she was the most beautiful lady by his side and both families were glad they both were together.
*After the event was successful, Ebedore desired to have a conversation with Hazel's father. He began, "With all do respect sir, my family and I are moving after I graduate and also am planning to join the military. Is it possible that your daughter can accompany me while in the military?" At first response, her father was amazed by the conversation. Her father replied, "Well that will be up to Hazel, not her mother and I. You already have our blessing son." With much response, Ebedore was already planning something better. But that would be have to wait.
*Months went by and Hazel and Ebedore was the most discussed throughout school and their hometowns. Not to mention their grades were always the best and never wavering. Ebedore continued to fall for Hazel with each passing day and was looking forward to the day to ask her to marry him. No one knew it yet of course except for him. Hazel began to wonder though because of his oddly ways at times, but she just thought that was how Ebedore was.
*As the school year approached its ending, Hazel began to realize that Ebedore(now Ebs) was to be right for her. Now she understood why becoming friends first was better for a well-mannered relationship as it was with the both of their families and parents before that. After all was said and done, graduation was approaching. Ebedore was nervous as you would dare to put your feet in cold water. The time to ask her was here. On approaching everyone from class and both families were present, Ebedore was a gentleman as he was and within the gymnasium courts, Hazel was walking toward the gymnasium to prepare for the graduation ceremony. She noticed everyone including Ebedore. He was already smiling and about to shed tears. Hazel wondered, "What is going on with everyone?" She made her way through the crowded people and Ebs was there standing on one knee. At first Hazel already assumed, but something was different. Ebedore reached for her hand, as small as it was, and they walked outside. With her astonishment, Hazel was introduced to a military based, flower setting scenery. Ebedore simply replied, "Hazel Ann, will you take my hand and the years to consider, to be my best self, and do life with me?" And Hazel answered, "Ebedore William, yes I will and to become your wife." Everyone was in tears and happy for the both of them.
*As the ceremony was to be accomplished, Hazel and Ebedore was in the front to be succeeded in the academic procedures. Ebedore kissed Hazel's hand as he was to be called up first before her. And then Hazel was to be called. Ebedore was already smiling because her academics was far greater than his and she would be sure to excel later on in life. When everyone else doubted her in the classroom, Ebs knew his lady would be the best.
*After the ceremony, the both of them prepared to be moving to a military base in the UK.(United Kingdom) Both families in their own way cherished what time they had with them both before seeing them off and of course the wedding date would be later on. First Ebedore and Hazel had to consider their home and his time in the military before considering establishing their marital life. That way they could accustom to life in another country.
*In October of nineteen seventy, Hazel and Ebedore married. After much time pursuing her writing and his time in the military for the next three to four years, they both pursued having animal companions in the home. Her parents' animals had to stay with them. Other words, one of the felines Hazel was going to consider taking would not enjoy the military life. So she decided to adopt almost the same feline as the one back home with her parents which was a black male feline that grew real close to her before graduating. Ebedore was more of a canine person than Hazel was. So they both agreed to have both in the home, one canine and one feline for at the moment. Ebs had to consider his military so animals companions would do justice in that regard on keeping company better than children at the moment. The both of them not considering the topic until knowing for sure Ebs time in the military was a complete success. The End
*So this is the reality of the soldier's memoir. A memoir birthing those moments in time of a different era and considering much on behalf the simplicity of well-mannered relationships of how things should be. And why we are to caretake the feelings and emotions of one another's pursuants in life and actually understanding the value of it rather than disclosing them.*
*INTO THE MIDNIGHT BLUE By C.A. Shelton
*Main Characters: Adeline Summers and Finn Coleman
*Adeline never felt she was a gifted girl. It was already the beginning of the year 2186 as we know it in the spring to consider the time passing by. All she could think about was the next thought of returning to her homelife after years of studying college for the past eight and a half years. Schooling was a priority to her after graduation and another reason of an outlet to not think about her childhood. Some memories she felt were left unsaid. Even her therapist entertained that to find closure would assist her returning to her hometown and making amends to the man that made her feel less wanted and to understand that healing was not to happen to him, but to her life instead.
*Conversations began to stir between them about returning home and Adeline finally stated that after her final exam, she would consider the next flight out to her father's place. Adeline lived across the states from him in the West Coast. Why not of course after what he had done to her years ago in her childhood. Reserved and resisting her emotions most of her life, Adeline refused to speak to him or her mother about the incident. In Adeline's eyes, he was a blue-eyed monster that bound her in trauma and left her cold in relentless nightmares that should never had to take in consideration. His lack of empathy made her skin crawl and observing her own father cheating on her mother and then returning home late at night, which were many nights, would make any daughter realize that her own parent she wished was never hers to begin with. He was a stranger to her and she knew once he left for work on certain days, she could never trust him again.
*All these thoughts began to recollect once she aboarded the flight and made her way back to the East Coast. As all flights, it was chaos and airports are usually never your friend. At times the boredom of them would make anyone want to travel in another world to pass the time while waiting. Then consider arriving back in normal time when your flight is ready. Adeline's brothers would be the first to greet her she was sure of it. The both of them vera different in their approach with the relationship with their little sister and also realizing that Adeline's years away was a step of courage for her to return home. They knew she knew all along.
*On the way there, Adeline sat back in the airplane recliner and a few rows back, before approaching the restroom, a male passed her seat and nudged her shoulder a slight bit aggressive. "Pardon me mam, in a rush at the moment. Will not do that again." Adeline responded, "Alright then. Thank you." And as soon as he spoke that and simply returned, he nudged Adeline again. And of course, her patience was testing. He looked back at her and kindly in a low shouting way stated, "Hello by the way. My name is Finn. What's your name?" Adeline already staring at him as if why he should not be speaking to her after he plainly stated he would not nudge her again. She calmly answered him, "My name is Adeline." He continued, "Well that is a lovely name." She responded, "Well thank you once again." He continued once again, "So what brings you to this flight?" Finn asked. His eyes and thoughts already focused on her. And with that already existing, Adeline made her words available. "Well on a flight back to the East Coast to see family. And I assume you are the same?" She communicated. Finn gave a moment before responding. "Well yes and no. It's complicated." She simply responded, " I'm sure it is." He replied back in a higher tone, "Well what's that supposed to mean?" Adeline already figuring him out and simply replied, "Well your nudging me twice and wanting my attention before the flight began, well you must be complicated too." He was quiet for a moment. "Well my family and I drifted apart a few years ago and want to better that. And no because I'm talking to you." Adeline had to pause for a moment herself. She was already healed for the most part with her ordeal and now this unexpected Finn might bring complications because of his own, including communicating with her as if nothing is a care in the world. A slight bit of emotional damage there she figured out. Adeline finally replied, "Well hopefully you will be able to bring back that being apart to where it needs to be." Finn stated, "Well you must trust that when I say this that you are right and when the flight is over, maybe we could have company together possibly?" Adeline already thinking in her mind what her brothers would do or say and well the thoughts of her parents, especially her father, was weighing in. Adeline responded that she would think about that.
*After some time and rest before the flight ended, Adeline upon waking noticed Finn obviously made his way two rows beside her and she could not help but smile just a slight bit. He must have put so much thought and focus on that he could not help himself. Finn simply replied, "Do you mind considering what we discussed about having company or not?" Adeline trying to completely wake up responded, "Well we can actually. It might assist with my emotions at the moment or better yet it would be good to have a friend." Finn already red as a peach agreed wholeheartedly.
*The drive toward her parents home would be a long time from the landing of the flight and her brothers would be the first to meet up with her. Which would be more relieving than facing the man whom she has considered a stranger most of her years, not to mention that one of her brothers look just like their father. She tried then to remove the thoughts on Finn and his situation. She simply asked Finn since he was tagging along, "So what are you going to consider about your family?" Finn as well as Adeline did not want to discuss matters. So since they agreed to be friends, best friends in his mind rather, simply responded, "Well my family does not like me much. I decided to go a different path in life, which was not at all horrendous, but according to them, I could have done better. And because of that, it has caused quite a bit of distance, resentment, and damage to me not wanting to be alone." Adeline was pondering in thoughts. And smiling because she was right. Finn added, "And I have had a hard time accepting myself and why I'm not good enough for people." Adeline continued, "Well you are not alone and you are good enough. We will get through this together. One family at a time." She continued the conversation, "And how do you feel about God?" Finn blindsided by the question answered, "Well I do not believe in Him. Why should I after how my family has deserted me. If they deserted me, I know God would. I have always felt alone you see." Adeline was amazed by his answer so she continued, "Well I do and know that God is real. That is the main reason why I am able to make this trip back home to face my father. God has already assisted my healing from what he put my mother and brothers through, including myself." Finn was curious. So he asked politely, "What did he do exactly?" Adeline continued, "Well when I was younger, I witnessed him cheating on our mother and he would blackmail me to not to tell anyone, not even our own mother. And the emotional blackmail gave me nightmares." Finn could not help but stare at her. All he wanted to do was think to hold her at that moment but she was driving. Adeline simply changed the conversation back to Finn, "Well what do you plan on accomplishing with your family and how they feel toward you?" Finn still staring at her replied, "Well hopefully my time away has allowed them to consider a better understanding of my life and who knows about my thoughts. My mother would be better at understanding the situation. I'm the only child so I guess in some way they both expected me to follow in career family-oriented endeavours. I guess they did not expect me to go my own way." Adeline was pleased with that and Finn smiled at her knowing that their conversations were getting better with time.
*Upon arrival at her father and mother's home, she dropped Finn off at his parents house. Ironically enough, his family lived only a couple hours away from Adeline's family, which was good. That meant if they needed one another while she was there, they knew where each one was to be found. Her brothers lived one hour away from their parents so Adeline drove there first of course. Running up to them to greet them in years was a sight to see. Happy in arms, both brothers were curious to know all about her schooling and time away. After much conversation, they all three made their way to their parent's home. Adeline preparing much to say to her father and let both brothers know in advance that she must speak to him alone.
*Once arriving, Adeline wished to speak to her father. He prepared to hug her once they stepped in the house, but she denied him. Adeline started the conversation while they both made their way to the patio. She simply stated, "Well it is good to see you after all these years. However, what would it take for you realize why I stayed away to begin with?" It was never easy nor was it hard either. That is what a daughter does once she realizes the only way to protect her sanity and heart is to stay away and deal with her own healing. Her father understood and simply replied, "Adeline, I loved your mother vera much and you children. My work and my ego simply blinded me and I am sorry. Please forgive me and never desert me again. I promise to never hurt you again." Adeline in silence trying to figure out his motive and then tears streaming down his face spoke otherwise. Adeline as honest as she could be responded, "I should have never had to question my own parent to trust him and your selfishness blinded you also. You know it to be true." Once again, her father admitted his wrong and she continued, "And a parent should never put a child in a position to where her own parent keeps secrets and uses that against her. Do you not have any empathy left?"
*With arms wide open her father realized that Adeline was right to feel the way she did and with much response, her father admitted that after two years that she left home to pursue her schooling, he went to therapy. Adeline's absence spoke volumes for him and how he would not risk losing her again. Her mother already understanding Adeline's time away and never once questioned it. In her mother's mind, Adeline was brave to continue her life and drift back toward home when the time was right. Adeline continued with them both and responded, "I wanted so much to consider home and understand how I was feeling. My own unforgiveness and bitterness toward you was not good. So I sought therapy for myself and then rededicated my life to God in the process. It was the Lord that completed my healing and here we are now."
*Both parents in awe of her testimony and realized even more that Adeline was the hope they needed including her brothers. She was strong enough to keep them accountable. Adeline then turned to her mother and stated, "Now it's your turn." Her mother was in shock about her statement and listened. She continued, "You knew all along his infidelity and did nothing of the sort about it. A real wife will keep her husband accountable not cheat just like him to get revenge. You had just as much ego as him. Two wrongs do not make a right as they say. And if my brothers would have turned out like the both of you, especially you father, I would have never returned." Both parents struck in silence. With much thought, her father apologized once again and let Adeline know that they were alright now and would never betray her trust again.
*After much discussion, the family were a family again after all these years and Adeline had so much peace after the meeting with them. That discussion was closure for her. After dinner, Adeline spoke to her parents about Finn. She let them know she met him while on the flight back home and was wanting to invite him over to dinner one night. They stated that would be on the agenda, whatever she wanted. She even made a declaration that lordwilling that Finn might possibly give his life to the Lord by meeting her and eventually becoming her love interest. Her parents both smiling simply stated, "Well give that time of course. And of course as well that will be your decision sweetheart, not ours." And her brothers already making their remarks, as brothers do, but in a good way. So after much company, later on Adeline chatted up Finn about considering company with her family and he agreed. He sensed everything must be good with her family and he stated it was good on his end too with family. So into the night they continued their conversations and much telling each other stories. Finn replied, "Time to sleep for you lovely." And Adeline simply replied back, "Well you are to do the same mister." They both laughed and said goodnight.
